• Chickens can get sick like any animal. You need to keep them well fed and watered to prevent them getting sick.

• You also need to keep them cool in summer. I use a water mister for my chickens to keep cool in summer. 

• Chickens can get worms in their stomachs and mites in their feathers. They need medicine to kill these bugs. 

• Sometimes chickens get sick or old and there isn't much you can do about it. Just give them lots of cuddles and keep them warm and comfortable.

• Some chickens live for 3 years, others live for more than 10 years. My oldest chicken is Cane, she is called Henny Penny in my books. Cane have lived for six years so far.
